Meet the people that keep Dirty Laundry Winery running all year round!
Mason Spink - Winemaker
Growing up in Victoria B.C., I was bitten by the wine bug early in life and moved to Ontario to study winemaking. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Oenology and Viticulture, with honors, at the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute at Brock University in St. Catharines Ontario, I moved back to B.C. I joined the winemaking team at See Ya Later Ranch, as the assistant winemaker and was quickly promoted to winemaker, where I held that position for seven vintages. Just before the start of the 2013 vintage, I joined the Dirty Laundry Winery team. After a challenging vintage, the cellar team performed extremely well and I am always excited to release the exceptional wines DLV has to offer.
I joined the Dirty Laundry team in February 2020, as I was looking for a change after 25 years opening restaurants and running kitchens. The wine industry has been challenging, but also very rewarding to be part of. My wife and I moved to the Okanagan 20 years ago and have raised our family here. We have two fantastic children, one currently at Thompson Rivers University and the other finishing up high school. Outside of work, I coach the Junior Harlequin Rugby Program, as well as the rugby team at Penticton High School. I also enjoy camping, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. My favourite wines at DLV are our Riesling and Bordello.
I have had the privilege of working with this great team for the past 10 years as VP of Sales and Marketing. My role encompasses external sales, E-commerce, marketing, branding, and strategic planning. My goal is to ensure that every visitor to our tasting room or website has a memorable experience and that our wines are available to our customers where they are and when they need it.
It is fulfilling for me to work with such a dedicated team who share our vision and passion.
I went to school for Business Tourism Management at Thompson Rivers University and spent 15 years in the restaurant industry, progressing from server and bartender to General Manager. I decided to leave the Kootenays and relocate to the Okanagan in pursuit of work in the wine industry. For the past 5 and a half years, I have been with DLV full time where I started as the Okanagan Sales Rep and progressed most recently to the Sales and Marketing Manager. I love to collaborate and lend my extensive experience to improve customer satisfaction in all areas of the winery. My passion for wine and food is matched by my love for cooking and gardening, reflecting my dedication to quality and excellence in all areas of my life.
I have been with DLV since 2017, starting seasonally in the wineshop. With no experience in the wine industry, I learned quickly when thrown into my first crazy Dirty Laundry summer. I have since taken on multiple positions at the winery, from Wineshop Supervisor to Merchandiser to Wine Club Coordinator and also achieved my WSET Level 2 in 2021. I have an amazing husband and I am currently on parental leave to spend time with my 4 year old son who we adopted from South Africa in May 2024! I love travelling, tea, books, video games, rock climbing and campfires.
I have been with DLV for 7 years now! I started in the tasting room pouring wine at the tasting bar. I was quickly promoted to Wineshop Supervisor, then became the Wineshop Assistant Manager and Patio Manager. Now I am our Marketing and Ecommerce Coordinator, assisting with our wine club communication. I have had many roles at DLV and if you have visited the winery, we have likely crossed paths! A few fun facts about myself, I love sports. I have been playing ringette for 19 years and I coach ringette as well; I have been doing so for 9 years. I also love animals and have a few pups of my own! I absolutely love to travel and the furthest place I've traveled to is Japan! I look forward to seeing and meeting you all! -Cheers!
I’ve been in the wine business since 2003 as a winemaker, in sales, as well as shipping wine. I have been at Dirty Laundry since 2012. I ship your wine to you and make sure our outside warehouses are stocked up, as well as anything else my coworkers might need help with. I occasionally assist in the cellar during bottling and I make sure the beer is full on the patio in the summer months. Some of my interests are gardening, biking, photography, brewing beer and skiing. My favorite beverages are Riesling, Cab Sav and a great craft beer.
Cheers!
I have been with DLV since 2015 when I started as a tasting room associate. In my tenure at Dirty Laundry, there have been many exciting changes, which I have enjoyed witnessing. From watching the portfolio grow with many award-winning wines under Mason Spink, the addition of an outside tasting bar & beer bar, opening a kitchen with an Italian forno oven, then starting a smoked meat menu. In 2020 after wearing many different hats I became the Wine Shop Manager. If you have visited in the summer then you know how beautifully crazy it is here at DLV. My favorite thing that I love about DLV is my team, which is always changing and evolving into a better version than before.
I joined DLV two years ago on October 12, 2022 - yippee! I was originally hired as an office clerk; the position quickly morphed into Merchandising which then morphed into Assistant Wine Shop Manager AND Merchandiser. I have a wonderful husband and two wonderful teenage boys who also help out at DLV in the summertime (bless their hearts). I enjoy ocean sailing, rehabbing old houses and vintage travel trailers. Nothing beats sitting in a boat, on an ocean, sipping fine wine and watching the sun come up or watching it set.
I joined the Dirty Laundry Team in September 2023 and I have a long-standing family history in the wine industry.
I started my first position in the wine industry from the bottom, working in the industry while going to high school and I have since worked in every aspect of the industry from vineyard worker, tasting room associate, restaurant owner, winemaker, General Manager and a Chartered Professional Accountant. Outside of work, I enjoy playing and hanging out with my two children, Pari and Veer. I am grateful for my loving and supporting family. My favorite wine from the Dirty Laundry Portfolio is the Cellar Series Malbec.
I moved to Summerland 10 years ago from Edmonton, as I grew up in the area so I thought it would be a good place to retire. That, obviously, did not happen. I Spent 15 years working for the City of Edmonton and decided I needed a small town vibe but after 6 months I got bored. I ended up at DLV just after moving here and have not left since. I enjoy my job and love the people that I work with. Outside of work, I enjoy reading (with a glass of Dangeous Liaison), redoing my yard and house over the past years, and hitting the sidewalks and trails with my pooch.
I moved from North Vancouver, transitioning from an Administration role in the port industry, and joined the Finance Team at DLV in December 2023 to cover a maternity leave. I feel very fortunate to be in the Okanagan and part of the DLV Team. I have been assisting with fulfilling the inventory management requirements, and processing the payables for the winery. During the tourist season when the wineshop is flourishing, I am willing to help out and support the team. When not at work, I enjoy pedaling around town with my partner, Terry, sightseeing on our e-bikes and closing the evening with a glass of the Cellar Series Brut Rose Bubbly.
The Red Iron Grille is CLOSED for the 2024 season. Reopening April 2025!
